Dlr LexIcon Live Events presents Christmas Classics with Harp Flute Violin & Voice

On Friday December 12th at 8pm, dlr LexIcon Library in Dun Laoghaire presents their final Studio Concert with an intimate performance by Highly Strung performing an acoustic blend of classical, contemporary and traditional Christmas tunes. The event takes place at the new dlr LexIcon Studio and is part of the dlr LexIcon Live event series. Admission is €15 and tickets are available from paviliontheatre.ie or 01 231 2929.
Highly Strung’s acoustic interpretations of classics from Caccini to Coldplay highlight a subtle signature twist that appeals to a musically curious audience. The group is made up of mezzo-soprano Angela O’Toole, Jeanette Behan on the flute, Lisa Lazenby on the violin and Mary Keenan playing the harp. The quartet has been performing together for six years and the combination of Harp Flute Violin & Voice together with their quirky arrangements makes them unique. They have performed at a range of venues around the country including special events for President Higgins and President McAleese. An evening with Highly Strung in the intimate dlr LexIcon Studio promises to be the perfect way to slip into the seasonal mood.
Since September, dlr LexIcon has presented dlr LexIcon Live; a series of bespoke and diverse events including free family fun in the stunning new dlr LexIcon Garden, Moran Park. The event series included Lawn of the Giants, Family day, Train your Brian, Safety in Cyber Space, Make and Boo Workshops and a Halloween Fright movie, an intimate performance by Eleanor McEvoy, Retro Gamer and Christmas Cheer masterclass on wines and craft beers with Whelahans Wines. The final event in the programme is on Saturday January 9th 2016 will be a fun filled Family Day at dlr LexIcon.
