On Friday December 4th at 6pm, dlr LexIcon Library in Dun laoghaire hosts a master class by Whelehans Wines in wines and craft beers with a guide to help you to read the labels, spot the plonk and buy the best. Tastings and pointers will guide you in stocking up for the festive season. The event takes place at the new dlr LexIcon Studio and is part of the dlr LexIcon Live event series. Admission is €10 and no booking is required.
On the night, join David Whelehan of Whelehans Wines who has a wealth of experience in discussing the ways of the grape. He has worked in wineries in both the northern and southern hemispheres, judged at international wine competitions in the UK and Italy and won the Champagne Academy trophy for Ireland. He has been a broadcast media contributor on wine for over 10 years and has written in numerous publications on the subject
His presentation will be fun and engaging, full of anecdotes, accompanied by a tasting with 6 different wines and two craft beers. This lively event is a must for anyone with an interest in wine and a developing taste for craft beer.
Since September, dlr LexIcon has presented dlr LexIcon Live; a series of bespoke and diverse events including free family fun in the stunning new dlr LexIcon Garden, Moran Park. The event series included Lawn of the Giants, Family day, Train your Brian, Safety in Cyber Space, Make and Boo Workshops and a Halloween Fright movie, an intimate performance by Eleanor McEvoy and Retro Gamer. Still to come in December is another intimate concert of ‘Christmas Classics’ with , Highly Strung, a quartet of Harp, Flute, Violin & Voice in an acoustic blend of classical, contemporary and traditional Christmas tunes – the perfect way to slip into seasonal mood. The final event in the programme is on Saturday January 9th 2016 will be a fun filled Family Day at dlr LexIcon.
